Lauren is fully qualified and holds diplomas in both remedial sports massage and Swedish massage as well as seated acupressure massage. Having studied and qualified at the Scottish massage school in Edinburgh, she is a member of the Scottish massage therapist organisation and fully insured.
Sports Massage uses Swedish and Remedial Massage techniques to address situations particular to the sports setting. Treatment can be both preventative as well as therapeutic. Sports Massage can be used for athletes during warm-ups and cool-downs, as part of a training regime, in pre-, inter- and post-event settings or as part of the rehabilitative process following injury.
The goal of Swedish Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase the blood flow to your heart. Swedish Massage is extremely therapeutic as it decreases muscle toxins, increases oxygen levels in the blood, and improves flexibility in the body.
Hot Stone Massage is often paired with Swedish Massage. Stones are heated and used with oils to sooth, warm, and massage your muscles. This allows your body to relax and release tension and stress.
Seated Acupressure Massage (SAM) is a highly effective form of massage based on traditional Japanese techniques and is highly popular in businesses, with benefits for the client and the employer. No oil, no mess, just less stress.
